The story is about three friends Rancho (Aamir), Farhan Qureshi (R Madhavan) and Raju Rastogi (Sharman Joshi) and their journey of life. It is their story of their hostel days including Rancho’s love life with Pia (Kareena Kapoor) and his conflicts with their teacher Viru Sahastrabudhhe (Boman Irani).

The movie is about how the protagonist Rancho) influences his two friends Farhan and Raju and teaches them to live life their own way. And one day, he vanishes! Then begins the search of Farhan and Raju for their long lost friend in the mountains and greeneries, and finally getting the secret one day!

Vidhu Vinod Chopra has revealed that much-awaited film “3 Idiots”, releasing Friday, will be the first Bollywood film viewers can download legally.

According to Chopra “This is the first film ever that you can actually download and watch on YouTube after 12 weeks from now,”.

He said that he planned to release the film on YouTube for those who can’t afford multiplexes.

“I’m providing this facility for those who can’t see it on big screen and watch pirated movies. I just want them to discourage pirated prints. They just need to wait for 12 weeks and after that they can legally download the movie and watch it,”  Chopra.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan turned `Banarasi Babu` to promote `3 Idiots` as he made his first stop in the holy city.

The 44-year-old actor has put on a disappearing act and is on a seven city tour to promote the film.

Aamir reached Varanasi on Friday and traveled through the narrow lanes of the old city to search his mother, Zeenat`s birth place in Teliyanala area, near the Prahlad Ghat at the banks of river Ganga.

Wearing a simple shirt, his face covered with a muffler, Aamir hid himself in old sunglasses. He stayed in the city for three days in the disguise of an old man.

The morning before leaving the city, Aamir reached the Teliyanala mohalla in the Kotwali area to visit his mother`s birthplace Khwaja Manzil, which is in a dilapidated condition.

Aamir also visited the famous Dasaswamedh Ghat.

The actor has roped in `Master Blaster` Sachin Tendulkar to endorse the movie, who gave the first clue about his whereabouts.

“I don`t know anything more than this,” Sachin had said as he read out the clue in Hindi, “Kahan jaoon kaise jaoon, itne sawal kaise suljaoon, kabhi to sochoon main udd jaoon. Kabhi sadak pe car bhagaoon, ya chuk chuk gaadi ko aazmaoon, chahe main jaise bhi jaoon, maa ke aangan mein raat bitaoon.”

Sachin has already watched the film at Ketnav studios in suburban Bandra along with his wife Anjali and friends including cricketer Ajit Agarkar.

`3 Idiots`, releasing on December 25, has Aamir playing a 22-year-old engineering student along with actors Madhavan and Sharman Joshi. Kareena Kapoor is the female lead.

Aamir Khan has found a new way to stay in the news. The actor has recently unveiled his T-shirt collection for a leading brand.

The range is inspired by the “3 Idiots look” and the movie’s actors, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi, including Aamir walked the ramp at a fashion show held recently.

While Aamir looked cool in black denim and a white tee with doodled smileys on it, Madhavan and Sharman wore tees which read All izzz well — a line taken from the movie’s song.

Directed by Raj Kumar Hirani, the movie 3 Idiots is a story of three friends whose dismal grade point averages at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) influenced their friendship, love life and career choices.

Aamir plays an IIT student in the film, which has been directed by Rajkumar Hirani of “Munnabhai” fame. The movie is slated to release on December 25

“I began working as an assistant very early in my life and did not get time to go to college. But, I have enjoyed the college life on screen,” Aamir told mediapersons at the preview of “All is Well” song from the film.

Talking about the song, Aamir said it is after their admission to an engineering college that the three protagonists prepare for the tough life ahead.

Addressing the media while presenting the maiden look of their film, Aamir Khan said that film is inspired from individuals, who were considered to be idiots for working on certain causes, but finally made a mark changing a lot in society. “There are many people like this in history. When we see them initially, we feel amused, but later on we realize that they are doing the right thing. So, the tag line of the film is ”Don”t be stupid, be an idiot”.

Aamir Khan has cut short his holiday in France and flown down to Mumbai to shoot an important romantic song with Kareena Kapoor for director Rajkumar Hirani’s film 3 Idiots.

The song will be shot for over five days, starting from September 21.

Sources are said to believe that Aamir’s wife might be on the sets during the shoot of the song. Kiran would be back in Mumbai on Sept. 21 to be with Aamir on the sets. It is said that she is keen to watch the shooting of the romantic song because she closely wants to observe Aamir and Kareena. Perhaps Kiran has plans to make a romantic movie next.

Another theory says that Aamir has been raving to Kiran about Hirani’s style of working during his holiday with her. Now, she wants to see Hirani in action herself.

The song is so crucial to the film that Kareena had to cancel her birthday plan with Saif Ali Khan to give five days to Hirani for it. Other actors Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Boman Irani too will be part of the song.

The movie as assumed by most is not exactly based on Chetan Bhagat’s best-seller ‘Five Point Someone’. Raju Hirani, the director who bowled with his Munnabhai series, stated that ‘Three Idiots’ is just an inspiration from the book and it is completely different. Only five percent of the book is the same. The director is of opinion that one can’t make a film out of a book, as both books and films are different.

“People should not go to the theatre thinking, we are going to watch ‘Five Point Someone’ and later find out that it’s a completely different film,” Hirani says.

Amir Khan’s much-awaited movie 3 Idiots will finally release on Christmas, reveals the star on his blog.

“Vinod (Chopra) and Raju (Hirani) told me that the postproduction of 3 Idiots is progressing well. So by the time I get back, the (film’s) cut will be ready. Which means I can confirm to all of you… that yes, the 3 Idiots will be releasing on Christmas this year. I’ll see the cut once I get back,” he writes.

These days, Aamir is busy accompanying wife Kiran after she suffered a miscarriage. “Kiran and I are away from home, in a quiet place, trying to recover from the loss. We are basically reading, going for walks and watching films,” he writes.

The versatile actor is also currently helping his wife Kiran in her directorial venture Dhobi Ghaat which will be delayed by a few months after her miscarriage.

When he figured that it’s about time he gets back in shape, he searched online for a badminton coach in Europe so that he can lose weight before he starts shooting with Kareena. Although it wasn’t easy finding a suitable badminton coach as it’s not a popular sport in Europe, Aamir made sure he has his fitness regime in place before he reached there.

The buzz is that Aamir Khan’s favorite way of losing weight and maintaining his fitness has always been the game of badminton. Even during his vacation in Europe, Aamir wants to continue with that and plays the sport whenever he feels like it.
