It would be a homecoming for super-hit film 3 Idiots, with the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, arranging five shows at its campus auditorium.

The film depicts life in an elite engineering institute and though there is no explicit reference to IITs, Five Point Someone, the novel written by Chetan Bhagat on which the film is based, talks about life on an IIT campus.

IIT Kharagpur auditorium has only 900 seats but in total 9000 students are studying there. Apart from that there are 1200 staffs and 550 faculties’ members. All of them want to watch the film with their co-mates and friends. So, it is difficult to accommodate all at of them at same time in auditorium. That’s why the IIT Kharagpur has arranged five shows of ‘3 Idiots’ at different show timings.

Students of IIT Kharagpur demand the institute to screen 3 Idiots at their college. On demand of students the institute approached the distributor of the film in Kolkata, Mr.Kapurchand. The distributors also agreed the demand of the IIT Kharagpur institute and they generously pull out the film from the city hall for one week. One week time is more than enough for the institute to hold and screen the shows.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra has revealed that much-awaited film “3 Idiots”, releasing Friday, will be the first Bollywood film viewers can download legally.

According to Chopra “This is the first film ever that you can actually download and watch on YouTube after 12 weeks from now,”.

He said that he planned to release the film on YouTube for those who can’t afford multiplexes.

“I’m providing this facility for those who can’t see it on big screen and watch pirated movies. I just want them to discourage pirated prints. They just need to wait for 12 weeks and after that they can legally download the movie and watch it,”  Chopra.

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan turned `Banarasi Babu` to promote `3 Idiots` as he made his first stop in the holy city.

The 44-year-old actor has put on a disappearing act and is on a seven city tour to promote the film.

Aamir reached Varanasi on Friday and traveled through the narrow lanes of the old city to search his mother, Zeenat`s birth place in Teliyanala area, near the Prahlad Ghat at the banks of river Ganga.

Wearing a simple shirt, his face covered with a muffler, Aamir hid himself in old sunglasses. He stayed in the city for three days in the disguise of an old man.

The morning before leaving the city, Aamir reached the Teliyanala mohalla in the Kotwali area to visit his mother`s birthplace Khwaja Manzil, which is in a dilapidated condition.

Aamir also visited the famous Dasaswamedh Ghat.

The actor has roped in `Master Blaster` Sachin Tendulkar to endorse the movie, who gave the first clue about his whereabouts.

“I don`t know anything more than this,” Sachin had said as he read out the clue in Hindi, “Kahan jaoon kaise jaoon, itne sawal kaise suljaoon, kabhi to sochoon main udd jaoon. Kabhi sadak pe car bhagaoon, ya chuk chuk gaadi ko aazmaoon, chahe main jaise bhi jaoon, maa ke aangan mein raat bitaoon.”

Sachin has already watched the film at Ketnav studios in suburban Bandra along with his wife Anjali and friends including cricketer Ajit Agarkar.

`3 Idiots`, releasing on December 25, has Aamir playing a 22-year-old engineering student along with actors Madhavan and Sharman Joshi. Kareena Kapoor is the female lead.

Aamir Khan has found a new way to stay in the news. The actor has recently unveiled his T-shirt collection for a leading brand.

The range is inspired by the “3 Idiots look” and the movie’s actors, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi, including Aamir walked the ramp at a fashion show held recently.

While Aamir looked cool in black denim and a white tee with doodled smileys on it, Madhavan and Sharman wore tees which read All izzz well — a line taken from the movie’s song.

Aamir revealed that he hasn’t read Chetan Bhagat’s book Five Point Someone which is said to be the inspiration behind 3 Idiots. The actor in a recent interaction with the mediapersons said that he felt the script of the movie was more important than the book from which it has drawn inspiration.

Aamir said that when he was approached for 3 Idiots by Raj Kumar Hirani he insisted on being given the script rather than a copy of Chetan Bhagat’s book. He added that if the script and the dialogues are well written in a movie rest of the things fall into place.

Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan are leaving no stone unturned to promote their upcoming films Paa and 3 Idiots respectively – the two were in a meeting on Sunday to discuss marketing gimmicks for both the films.

Paa is releasing on December 4, while 3 Idiots hits the screens on December 25.

According to Big B’s blog, the duo have began discussing marketing strategies for their respective films.

“Aamir comes over Sunday at my initiative to discuss a few promotional points for our respective films. It is always a joy to meet him… We have always spent time together discussing various topics of common interest and yes films is one of them. Lets see how things go,” Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com.

“I began working as an assistant very early in my life and did not get time to go to college. But, I have enjoyed the college life on screen,” Aamir told mediapersons at the preview of “All is Well” song from the film.

Talking about the song, Aamir said it is after their admission to an engineering college that the three protagonists prepare for the tough life ahead.

3 Idiots isn’t going to be a stag caper focusing on the antics of the three lovable characters played by Aamir Khan, Madhavan and Sharman Joshi. Director Rajkumar Hirani has spiced it up with an erotic rain song shot recently on Aamir and Kareena Kapoor.

The two stars were apparently very comfortable getting cozy on camera in artificial rain. The song has Kareena wearing a sexy saree.

Though the film is primarily the story of three male characters, there would be sufficient focus on the Aamir-Kareena love track as well.
