Aamir Khan said that he will play the character Ryan in the Rajkumar Hirani’s film “Three Idiots”. He said that role is challenging though it was not opposite actress Kareena Kapoor. The film is based on the Chetan Bhagat’s book Five Point Someone that has three characters Ryan, Alok and Hari.

Three Idiots is about college life and student struggle. In Five Point Someone, the story was about three youngsters coming to terms with the fast pace of studies and life sans ejoyment in I.I.T. In Three Idiots, the main characters remain the same, but the back drop is now I.I.M. (Indian Institute Of Management) Bangalore and not I.I.T.
